“Fantastic & professional service from Canadian Towing this weekend. Car electrics failed, tow truck arrived within timeframe promised, operator suggested a boost as a less expensive option, I declined as I did not trust the car, car towed quickly and professionally where I wanted it for price advertised. Operator never tried to tow the car at a place of his choosing, at all - I got that in the past with other companies. Pretty reasonable cost, clear paperwork, all electronic. All done quickly without being rushed. Very courteous operator, good chat on the way. Well impressed. Use Canadian Towing with confidence.”

Know the price before you book
Nobody wants to discover the charges after the car is already on the deck. Tell dispatch where you are, what you drive and where it is going, and you get the price for that job before you say yes.
- Local towing from $120. Standard passenger vehicles within Ottawa. The final rate depends on vehicle, pickup, destination and equipment.
- Lockouts and battery boosts from $80. Roadside fixes for problems that may not need a tow at all.
- Heavy-duty and recovery quoted on the call. Larger vehicles, ditches, snowbanks and winching are assessed individually.
- No night, weekend or holiday premium. The rate dispatch gives is the rate on the invoice.
- You sign a consent form that shows the price before the hook goes on, as Ontario requires, and you get an itemized invoice.
The Price-Before-Dispatch Promise
If the invoice is ever higher than the price dispatch confirmed, you pay the price dispatch confirmed. Show us the consent form and we correct it on the spot. If something unexpected comes up on scene, the driver talks to you before doing extra work.
What moves the price: vehicle size and condition, distance, flatbed or special equipment, access and winching, and storage if a shop is closed. Typical totals are in the Ottawa towing rates guide.
“Car towed quickly and professionally where I wanted it for price advertised. Operator never tried to tow the car at a place of his choosing, at all - I got that in the past with other companies. Pretty reasonable cost, clear paperwork, all electronic.”
“Honest. Good price. Very helpful driver.”
Why Ottawa drivers choose Canadian Towing
Fast because we are already nearby. Careful because it is your car.
A tow truck in Ottawa that gets to you fast
Ten trucks staged in Nepean, Kanata, Orléans, Barrhaven and the core, plus a second yard in Stittsville. Dispatch sends the closest one and tells you honestly how long it will take. You get a text when the driver is rolling.
“I broke down over 4 hours from home and CAA canceled on me because they were “too busy” these guys responded with in 45 minutes.”
Flatbed towing that returns your car the way we found it
EVs, hybrids, AWD and low cars ride with all four wheels off the road. Motorcycles are strapped and chocked, never pulled by the bars. Dead battery or stuck park brake? Say so and the driver brings a jump pack and skates.
“Amazing service from Josh. Second time he has towed a motorcycle for me and this guy is so meticulous with his care of my bike. Highly recommended them for their quick and professional service.”
Accident towing with the paperwork handled
You choose the body shop; we never steer you to one that pays us. We are recognised by major insurers, bill directly where the policy allows, and deliver photos, invoice and storage records the way adjusters ask for them.
“Hello, I just used this service and Josh helped me out very professional and very fast service. I was very impressed. I must say I strongly recommend them in stressful situation when you are stuck on the side of the road thank you very much.”

How to get a tow truck in Ottawa
Three steps from stranded to sorted
Call 24/7 dispatch
(613) 869-2323. Give your location or nearest intersection, what you drive, what happened and where it should go.
Hear the price and the ETA
Dispatch confirms the price for that job and a realistic arrival time based on where the trucks are right now. Then you decide.
Sign, load, deliver
The driver shows you the consent form with the price, loads the right way for your vehicle, and drops it where you said. Itemized invoice, card or cash.
Ottawa towing service areas
Ottawa first, then the communities around it
Towing and roadside assistance across the city, with the most calls coming from these neighbourhoods. We also run the Highway 417 and 416 corridors and reach Arnprior, Rockland, Russell and Kemptville, subject to availability.
Your rights when getting a tow in Ontario
Did a tow truck show up that you never called?
You do not have to use it. Unless police have ordered the tow, Ontario law lets you choose the company and the destination, and it bars tow trucks from stopping within 200 metres of a collision scene unless they were called, with limited exceptions. Before you authorise any tow, know the operator's name and certificate number, where the vehicle is going, the quoted charges, and that you will get a consent form and an itemized invoice.
What you will see on ours: the Canadian Towing name, certificate TO# 186-081-947 in a contrasting colour, and a driver who hands you the consent form with the price on it before touching your vehicle. If you would rather have a truck you chose, call us and wait in your car. More in our Ontario towing driver rights guide.

Ottawa towing frequently asked questions
How much does towing cost in Ottawa?
Local towing starts at $120. Lockouts and battery boosts start at $80. The final price depends on the vehicle, the distance and the equipment needed, and dispatch confirms it on the phone before a truck is sent. There is no after-hours, weekend or holiday premium. Typical totals are in our towing rates guide.
How quickly can a tow truck arrive in Ottawa?
It depends on where you are, which of our ten trucks is closest, traffic and weather. Dispatch sees truck positions when you call and gives you a realistic arrival time, not a slogan. You get a text when the driver is on the way.
Can I choose where my vehicle is towed?
Yes. Unless police have ordered the tow, you pick the destination: your mechanic, a dealership, home or another address. We confirm it before the tow begins and never steer you to a shop that pays us.
A tow truck I never called just pulled up. Do I have to use it?
No. In Ontario you choose the towing company and the destination unless police order the tow, and provincial law bars tow trucks from stopping within 200 metres of a collision scene unless they were called, with limited exceptions. Ask for the company name and certificate number on the door. If you would rather have a truck you chose, call us and wait in your car.
Do I sign anything before you hook up my car?
Yes. Ontario's Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act requires a consent form that shows the price before the tow starts. You get an itemized invoice, and we accept cash and credit cards. Read our driver rights guide.
Can you tow an electric car, an AWD or a motorcycle without damaging it?
Yes. Those vehicles go on a flatbed so no wheel touches the road. Motorcycles ride strapped and chocked. Tell dispatch the make, model and whether the vehicle can roll and steer so the driver brings the right gear.
Do you tow on Highway 417 and Highway 416?
Yes, where stopping is permitted. Tell dispatch your direction of travel, the nearest exit and where you can safely wait. Stay in the vehicle with hazards on if you are on a live shoulder.
Will my insurance cover the tow?
Many policies cover towing after a collision, and some include roadside assistance. Coverage varies by insurer and policy, so check yours. We provide the documentation your claim needs and bill the insurer directly where the policy allows. Details on the insurance approved towing page.
What should I have ready when I call?
Your location or nearest intersection, what you drive, what happened, whether the vehicle can roll and steer, and where it should go. That is enough for dispatch to pick the right truck and give you an exact price.
